Full Version: Weight of the World
The Beatles > The Beatles > Ringo Starr
Fab4Fan
I've been listening to a heapin' helpin' of Ringo lately. I've been impressed by his writing (and singing).

One of my favorite Ringo CDs is "Time Takes Time". Quite a few solid tracks on that one. "I Don't Believe You" and "Weight of the World" are my top two faves from the CD. They both sound as though they belong on a Beatles album.

I think my all time favorite Ringo song is "Weight of the World" (although there are a few close 2nds). It's absolutely fantastic. Musically it really stands out and the message is priceless. It really is a great example of what I refer to as Positive Message Music. The fact that I'm a counselor and former social worker probably has something to do with my affinity for the message.

What do you all think? Do you have any opinions regarding the songs discussed above? How do you feel about Ringo's body of work?

Take care!

I love Ringo solo works. I agree, "Weight of thre World" is an awesome track. His only solo album that I didn't care much for was OLD WAVE.

I love the funkier tracks on GOODNIGHT VIENNA... the title track, "OO-Wee" and "Snookeroo". From the RINGO IV, the track "Wings" has sorely been un-noticed.

Vertical Man and Ringo Rama are both solid CDs. Instant Amnesia is recommended listening.
