I have just sent this to The Times, the London based newspaper.
I'd like to share it with you here
To The Editor,
As an American I wish the best to the good people of England. As you know we have seen terrorist attacks on our soil. Those responsible for the recent attack in London claim the the city is now gripped in fear and terror. Closer to the truth, Londoners will be closer together in the aftermath of this attack.
Prime Minister Tony Blair mentioned the bombings were barbaric, and committed by those with disregard for human life. I agree with him totally. The terrorists have misplaced ideals in religious trappings. They mistakenly believe they act in the name and for the glory of Allah. In reality, they profane the teachings of Mohammed. They corrupt and distort the Koran's meaning with twisted political values.
After the destruction of the World Trade Center I saw terrorism for what it is. A violent action committed as a means to achieve a goal. At the same time I saw terrorism as something else............simply stated, terrorism is abject foolishness. Nothing has ever been achieved by terrorism, and nothing ever will.

For those of you with friends and loved ones in England, I offer to you my very best. May your friends and loved ones be well.
