You all know how much I love Ringo but I have one drummer who I think is terribly overlooked! Who you ask, well Bobby Elliot. Whats your opinion? wink.gif

Wasn't The Who a part of the second British Invasion? I mean they didn't have any impact here in the US until the Monterey Pop Festival in 1967.

Your correct as the first single "I Can't Explain" bombed over here in 1967. The Initial British Invasion dates bands in the year 1964,oh my God, 41 years ago smile.gif It took Monterey and a broken drum kit and a smashed guitar to reach the legend the Who got. Mr Crawley used to read Creem so as far as odd bands he may have known about them earlier than the masses. Creem covered a better spectrum of artists than any other publication at that time wink.gif

You know the story about Mick Avery was first choice insted of Charlie?? Odd itsn't it how things fall into place as it should. I LOVE Ringo and didn't mean to take away anything to his chop's. Just was commenting about the other little drummer boys wink.gif

I just thought of Hugh Grundy from The Zombies and John Steele from The Animals. Both are solid drummers.

Well Boy Howdy, did you try the new Mr Blunstone/ Mr Argent Cd ?????? It's really quite good. I do miss Mr Ballard but the guitar player they have now has nice chops san's the writing skill of one Ballard wink.gif
It seem's both the latter Zombies haven't missed a step in either singing range ala Macca or keyboard skills. I just can't believe that the CD got NO advertising that I know about ohmy.gif

What about a drummer from another British Invasion? Paul Cook.
